ISSUES IN PLANTING A MULTICULTURAL CHURCH
Abstract
Church planting in contemporary mission studies has become one of the most discussed topics, thanks to the Church Growth Movement that reintroduced the debate starting with McGavran’s publication of his book, The Bridges of God in 1955. Since then, church planting has emerged as a distinct subject within missiological world. Much of the debate at the time starting from the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and even 1990s has been focused on the narrow part of church planting, the target group. Especially because of the emphases on the homogenous principle by those in Church Growth Movement, church planting became a contentious issue.Issue
