Kingdom Movements among Internal Migrants to Indian Cities
Abstract
India is predominantly a rural country, and missions in India have been predominantly concentrated in rural areas. But the urban population, though only 32 percent, is about 400 million in terms of absolute numbers—more than half of whom are poor. The author has observed in his church planting initiatives among the poor in the city of Ahmedabad that Kingdom Movements are taking place specially among the poor migrants from interstate and interdistrict locations. In search of missional reasons for why such Kingdom Movements are occurring, this article is based on a case study in the city of Ahmedabad.Published
