Mission and Public Issues

Abstract

Evangelical missions have often struggled with how to relate to political, economic, and other public, structural, and what might be called non-religious arenas of societal life. One approach has been to attempt the impossible and steer clear of such issues. With respect to the current Palestine-Israel conflict, different Christian bodies have reacted in various ways. Distinguishing between mission and missions can help in understanding and in practice.
