A Proven Model for Developing Biblically Competent, Christlike Leaders for the Global Church
Abstract
This article evaluates Competency-Based Theological Education (CBTE) through Re-Forma’s outcomes-based model to address the global pastor training crisis. Drawing on 2025 qualitative research of 14 Kenyan facilitators, the study demonstrates how implementing Re-Forma’s 37 Outcomes establishes a rigorous, contextually flexible standard for assessing competence for biblical ministry. The findings show that this mentor-driven approach integrates head, heart, and hands to foster Christlike character, counter prosperity theology, and unite independent “Roho” congregations. Additionally, this standard satisfies government registration criteria, presenting a scalable pathway to equip reliable, qualified global leaders.
